To honour the memory of their late, creative director, the Karl Lagerfeld fashion house is launching a worldwide campaign this autumn, 'A Tribute to Karl: the White Shirt Project'. Its goal is to celebrate the legacy of this fashion icon through one of his favourite styles, the white shirt.
With their own designs, they have transformed the iconic white shirt of this world-famous figure. The seven designs selected, by Carine Roitfeld, Cary Delevingne, Tommy Hilfiger, Sébastien Jondeau, Diane Kruger, Kate Moss and Takashi Murakami, have been replicated 77 times and are available for sale at KARL.COM and Farfetch.com for € 777 each.
The project, over which Carine Roitfeld took patronage, was launched in September during the Paris Fashion Week and supports the charity initiative "Sauver la Vie", which funds medical research at Paris Descartes University.
As part of the project, the exhibition tour will come exclusively to the Myslbek shopping gallery from the 23rd to 28th of October 2019. The main atrium will be transformed into a showcase of selected white shirts, including one by Eva Herzigová. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to see her design personally, along with the designs of other celebrities and talents who have participated in the project.
In addition to the White Shirt Project exhibition, KARL LAGERFELD will introduce the 'Essential White Shirt' line, which will be available on KARL.COM and KARL LAGERFELD stores worldwide. This collector's piece is decorated with Karl's typical details - a high collar and strong cuffs - plus a special patch on the front to honour him. The shirts will be on sale on the 23rd and 24th of October, and it will be possible to customize them using archived sketches by Karel Lagerfeld. Please note that only a limited number of shirts are available!
